Skyline Raider Band
On Saturday, September 30th, 2017 the Skyline Raider Band went to Shreveport, Louisiana to compete in the Grand Championship of Battle of the Bands. They came out on top with drum majors also coming in 1st place. All of Skyline High School felt a sense of pride as they came home with a win.
Marvin Garcia- "Pretty lit. getting 1st place win for a second time was very exciting."
Kenneth Harvey- "It was awesome and fun, I felt unstoppable."
Marquez Jones- "It was great, very competative, but we still came out on top."
Xavien Mitchell- "It felt amazing. Represented Skyline in another state and showed them what we're all about."

Description:
The Skyline Band Department is made up of marching, jazz, wind ensemble, symphonic, and fundamental band. The band consist of over 200 members, 2 directors, 1 color guard director, and percussion instructor.
Awards & Recognitions:
The band has won several Battle of Bands in the DFW area which including Lancaster BOTB, Townview, "Big D", Flooe Show, SOC, 16 GSU BOTB, Toyota, MLK BOTB, Superior ratings for DISD UIL concert & sight reading. Superior Rating Region 20 Marching UIL 2013. The past 4 years the Skyline Raider Band had on average 20 students make state UIL solo & ensemble.
Upcoming Events & News:
The Skyline Raider Band continues to support the varsity football team through the playoffs. They are also preparing to participate in the Children Christmas Parade, Townview "Big D" floor show and Dallas MLK Parade.
