Bring Dads To School Day
by. J. Williams

Dads' Day, as told by the president of the Dads' Club, is a day to celebrate the male role models in your life and the impact they have on society. The event brought in over 30 fathers, all passionate about raising today's youth through direction, support, and discipline.
Many volunteers including Mr. Jackson and Officer Lamar, took time out of their day to not only share their personal fatherhood stories, but to also inspire the senior class of young men in the audience, who were accompanying the fathers. Overall, this event served as a reminder of the importance of a fatherly figure in one's life. It was sponsored by the Dads' Club (Booster Chair Kotto Forward and Co-Chair, Ola Allen) with assistance from our assistant principals, Ms. Lyons and Mrs. Ruffin-Brown. This event has inspired Skyline to create a male mentoring program.
Special thanks went to Mr. Harper (graphic posters), Mr. Provo (Jazz Band), and Mrs. Christenson-Phillips (Student Senate), for assisting with this event.
