Skyline Band

What are the Skyline football games without the Skyline Raider Band? They keep the fans and the football players hyped. They are there to provide the entertainment with the stand music and half-time shows.

Drum Majors are the leaders of the band. Positioned in the front, they give out commands for players and the marching tempo.  “The drum majors are doing an excellent job, they all have unique backgrounds.” Mr. Young, head band director, said.

After the band directors, the drum majors are in charge, followed by section leaders.  In order to become a drum major, members need to be able to play their instruments very well. They will also need to audition for All-City and participate in Solo and Ensemble. They go through a series of tryouts to determine if they’re ready for drum major camp. It is important to have great leadership skills because the band looks up to the drum majors.

The Skyline drum majors can be found in the band room conducting the band in warm ups and show music. They are also found on the field doing their drum major introductions. They will be in front of the band during the parades. They will be in the stands doing their stand dances. Or at times, they can be found around school carrying their maces.
