A Night With Melanie Martinez

Located in the heart of Bishop Arts District, Oddfellows stands as a home away from home with its cozy and quaint dining atmosphere. With its award winning entrees and coffee there is nothing that is stopping the process of this local Oak Cliff establishment. Established in 2012, it first made headlines for its $15,000 Marzocco Strada espresso machine, which is one of only three in the United States. This created a lot of buzz and allowed the establishment to gather a crowd its very first day of business. With its award winning entrees, Oddfellows has made its mark on the Oak Cliff dining area. During the year of 2011, the restaurant won awards for the best macaroni and cheese as well as for the best fried chicken. “Their buffalo mac and cheese is the best thing in the world. Their entire menu is amazing and the atmosphere in the restaurant is like no other. It’s small and cozy and I don’t ever feel rushed,” senior Jennifer Aguilar said. But aside from the food, Oddfellows also allows its unique staff to help enhance the restaurant’s image. “There is no certain image that we are asking for,” manager Chris Iwasko said. “Even though most places say they want something different, when it comes to it, they don’t acquire that. Oddfellows is not your normal eating establishment because our employees all have something that makes this place stand out.” As a regular customer, I can say that this little restaurant brings in a crowd and certainly will keep attracting customers with not only it’s image but with it’s phenomenal food. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

“Dollhouse is about the reality in which people have to live with. When playing with dolls, children see them as these perfect figures with perfect lives. Dollhouse takes a twist by telling the story of what happens when the dolls are put away and the lights are off. It’s an epic record and I can’t wait to show people what I have been working on for the past year,” Melanie said.
